Week of 18th-21stNov 2019

In Maths students understood fraction of quantity, multiplication of fractions with fractions and the concept of least common multiple was also reinforced amongst some students. Students practiced Maths problems with the help of www.myimaths.com

In English some students were writing a mythical story, while some created a mythical character and writing it's characteristics.
Apart from the above, the concept of proper nouns was reinforced, so that while they write their myths or character sketch, they are able to keep the proper nouns in mind.

The list below was given to them so that students can come up with some names on the below-mentioned categories.

In unit of inquiry, students did some inquiry on creative ways of spreading messages across the masses. They were asked to look for songs poems and dances which had a message and which were creatively presented. They worked with their partners for research on this topic.

Week of 28th October 2019

This was a short week!...nevertheless a good one where many learnings happened.

In English students explored sentence length and fluency in an interesting way. At first, they interlocked a few rubber bands and stretched them as much as they could.
Then they read a paragraph. In the paragraph, they identified short and long sentences.
Students were asked to knock out the unnecessary words from a sentence

Students also explored tongue twisters in English.
How do we make a tongue twister? What is required to make a tongue twister?
Students had to think on the above questions and come up with a tongue twister. An example of a tongue twister was given to them:

Below is a photograph of students exploring the length of rubberbands and sentences.

In Maths students continued to practice order of operations in their groups for the initial part of the week. They practiced it through www.myimaths.com and on google drive.

Some of the students had the opportunity to play a fun game with the order of operations while solving the problems.

In the unit of inquiry, students did some reflection on the achievements of the 21st century. The questions which they thought on were:
What they can't live without?
What live makes their lives easier?
What is/are the technology which they can't live without?
What achievements did the world have in the last five years?

Students also did their assessment on the third line of inquiry:

In integrated play students started working on their drama and their props. They are done with their props and are practicing their drama on the third line of inquiry:
